Summary

We are seeking an experienced, crypto-savvy Managing Director to serve as the UK resident Director and lead our crypto payments business in the UK. This role is a Senior Management Function position under UK’s SMCR. The ideal candidate must be UK-based, with prior experience in crypto or payments, deep knowledge of the local crypto/payment ecosystem, and established relationships with the financial services and regulatory ecosystem.

This role is critical to supporting OSL’s UK regulatory authorisation and ongoing compliance, including obligations under the UK Money Laundering Regulations (MLR) and the evolving cryptoasset regulatory regime under the Financial Services and Markets Act framework. The role will work closely with the UK AML Officer and Group Compliance to ensure full regulatory alignment and successful licence application and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as UK resident Director and senior manager with overall responsibility for the UK regulated cryptoasset business.
  • Lead UK market strategy for crypto assets and payments products, ensuring alignment with regulatory permissions and risk appetite.
  • Support the company in obtaining and maintaining UK regulatory approvals, collaborating closely with AML Officer and Group Compliance on all regulatory submissions and compliance preparations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with FCA, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to support licensing and ongoing compliance engagement.
  • Drive UK business development opportunities across crypto, payments, fintech, and financial institutions.
  • Represent the company as the senior UK executive at industry events, regulatory meetings, consultations, and strategic partner discussions.
  • Collaborate closely with global teams (compliance, legal, product, operations, risk) to ensure business growth is aligned with UK regulatory expectations and internal governance standards.
  • Act as the key interface between UK operations and group-level governance.
  • Lead UK’s business strategy and drive growth for all crypto-payment products.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience supporting UK regulatory applications (e.g., FCA registration, EMI/PI authorisation, or similar regulated licence processes).
  • Must currently reside in the United Kingdom with a valid right to work.
  • Prior experience in crypto, digital assets, payments, or regulated financial services is essential.
  • 10+ years’ experience in crypto payments, payment institutions, fintech, or related financial services.
  • Strong professional network within UK financial services, regulators, and industry ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of the UK regulatory environment, including FCA expectations, MLR 2017 requirements, and evolving cryptoasset regulatory frameworks under the Financial Services and Markets Act.
  • Proven business development experience with ability to grow strategic partnerships and commercial operations.
  • Strong leadership presence, entrepreneurial mindset, and ability to operate in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment with regulatory scrutiny.

Vision & Mission

OSL is the first SFC‑licensed digital asset platform in Hong Kong and a PayFi innovator. Through stablecoin payments, cross‑border settlement and global licensing, we are building the next‑generation payments network. Stablecoins have become everyday money across emerging markets and are widely viewed as blockchain’s “killer app,” with industry focus shifting from token issuance to real‑world consumer and enterprise payment adoption. The strongest growth lies in cross-border B2B payments, where providers embedding stablecoins into corporate settlement flows can capture significant volume and float. Long‑term defensibility comes from regulatory licences, banking partners and cross‑border corridors.

OSL holds or has acquired licences in Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, Bermuda and Indonesia, and is expanding into Europe, Brazil, Southeast Asia and Africa through acquisitions and licence applications. With OSL Pay and StableX, we embed stablecoin settlement into bank accounts and card networks, support 150+ digital assets, and provide 24/7 fiat‑stablecoin conversion. As a regulated pioneer with a startup mindset, we believe the future of payments will be driven by real adoption and scalable deployment, not technology narratives. We welcome builders who are passionate about crypto and payments to join us in shaping compliant, global payment infrastructure.
