Reporting into the UK Operations Manager, the Engineering Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and continuously improving all engineering activities at the manufacturing site. This includes ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of plant assets, compliance with UK legislation and industry standards, and delivery of capital and maintenance strategies that support business objectives.

This is a hands-on, site-based leadership role within a regulated chemical manufacturing environment. The Engineering Manager shall be responsible for:

  • Health, safety & compliance
  • Asset and maintenance management
  • Engineering leadership and team management
  • Capital projects and continuous improvement
  • Stakeholder and business support

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in an Engineering Manager or senior engineering leadership role within chemical, process, manufacturing industries
  • Strong knowledge of UK engineering and safety legislation relevant to chemical manufacturing
  • Experience managing maintenance strategies, asset integrity, and capital projects
  • Demonstrated leadership and people-management skills in a site-based environment
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards chartership
  • Formal training in asset management, project management, or process safety
  • Safety-driven with high attention to detail
  • Pragmatic, hands-on leader comfortable working in an operational plant environment
  • Strong influencer with the ability to engage teams at all levels
  • Organised, resilient, and capable of managing multiple priorities
