We are seeking an experienced Piping Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis in our Hessle, Hull office. Reporting directly to the Lead Piping Engineer, you will play a key role in providing piping engineering support for a diverse range of projects in the Chemical, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, and Clean Energy sectors.
In this role, you will take ownership of the piping design process, ensuring that deliverables meet our client's piping specification standards and adhere to engineering codes and industry best practices. You will be at the forefront of developing cost-effective piping design solutions while collaborating with a wide range of engineering teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the development of work instructions for the piping design package, ensuring all deliverables meet client specifications.
- Act as the single-point responsibility for all piping-related deliverables, ensuring they comply with engineering codes, client policies, and project standards.
- Drive innovation in piping design methods and procedures to enhance cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Provide expert guidance on technical queries related to piping engineering and design, ensuring the team remains on track.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure that piping designs are integrated and of the highest quality.
- Interpret cloud scan data and 3D modelling software to design optimal piping routes and layouts, mitigating the risk of clashes.
- Prepare piping bulk quantity forecasts for project proposals, ensuring cost-efficiency at every stage.
- Oversee the piping layout, stress analysis, procurement activities, and design reviews, taking responsibility for their successful delivery.
- Support commissioning and construction phases through site visits and ongoing technical support.
- Participate in constructability reviews and provide leadership in project execution, working closely with vendors, clients, and internal teams.
- Proven experience as a Piping Design Engineer in oil & gas, chemical, or clean energy industries.
- Extensive knowledge in Piping Design, Layout, Engineering Requisitioning, Stress Analysis, Fabrication, and Procurement.
- A relevant degree (MEng, BSc, BEng) or HND, along with practical experience in the field.
- Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills that allow you to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
