The IEC ISO 17020 Specialist is responsible for evaluating, auditing, and ensuring the compliance of our inspection body with the ISO/IEC 17020 standard. This role involves conducting assessments, providing guidance, and assisting inspection bodies in maintaining the highest standards of quality and competence in their inspection activities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and audits of our inspection body to determine compliance with ISO/IEC 17020 requirements.
- Review inspection body documentation, procedures, and processes to assess their alignment with the standard.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to inspection bodies for achieving and maintaining ISO/IEC 17020 compliance.
- Collaborate with inspection bodies to address any deficiencies or non-conformities identified during assessments.
- Evaluate the competence and qualifications of personnel involved in inspection activities.
- Analyze and interpret relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines to ensure accurate assessment of inspection bodies.
- Stay up-to-date with changes and updates to ISO/IEC 17020 and related standards.
- Participate in the development and delivery of training programs related to ISO/IEC 17020 compliance.
- Prepare assessment reports detailing findings, recommendations, and compliance status.
- Assist in the development and improvement of internal processes for assessment and auditing.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with inspection bodies, regulatory agencies, and industry stakeholders.
- Provide expert advice on ISO/IEC 17020 compliance matters to internal teams and external clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as engineering, quality assurance, or a related discipline). Master’s degree is a plus.
- Certification as an ISO/IEC 17020 Lead Auditor is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO/IEC 17020 standard and its requirements.
- Proven experience in conducting assessments, audits, or inspections in accordance with relevant standards.
- Familiarity with various industries and their specific inspection requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
