The Workflow Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and continually improving workflows, automations, and integrations across the firm's core business systems including case management and finance platforms. The role ensures that processes are efficient, reliable, and aligned with legal-sector best practices.
Working closely with business stakeholders, the Workflow Developer translates operational needs into robust, secure, and well-documented technical solutions that support high-quality legal service delivery and contribute to the firm’s wider digital strategy.
The Workflow Developer will:
- Develop, configure, and maintain workflows across case management, practice management, and finance systems to support efficient legal and business operations.
- Work closely with legal teams, Finance, and Business Services to gather and analyse requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear technical specifications with documented acceptance criteria.
- Ensure workflow changes follow the firm’s change control and release processes.
- Analyse end-to-end data flows across business systems and recommend improvements for performance, accuracy, and reliability.
- Build and manage automations using integration platforms or low-code tools (e.g., Power Automate, Boomi, or equivalent).
- Develop and execute test plans (unit, integration, UAT support) to ensure robust delivery.
- Support rollout plans, including communication, user guidance, and training coordination.
- Collaborate with external suppliers on enhancements, defect resolution, updates, and technical troubleshooting.
- Ensure workflows and system enhancements uphold confidentiality, GDPR, and legal services data governance standards.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Customer-centric, proactive in understanding user needs and improving system usability.
- Structured, methodical approach with keen attention to detail and documentation quality.
The Workflow Developer will have:
- Minimum 2 years experience in a development, system customisation, or workflow-focused technical role.
- Strong SQL experience (queries, stored procedures, performance troubleshooting).
- Hands-on experience designing workflows, automations, or system integrations.
- Strong understanding of data flows and information architecture.
- Ability to analyse complex requirements and produce structured, high-quality technical solutions.
