As a High Voltage Technician, you will be part of a specialist production and engineering team responsible for the build, installation, testing, and maintenance of high-voltage systems. Working closely with Manufacturing Engineers and the Cargo Research Team, you will support the development and delivery of next-generation products while contributing to quality assurance and root cause analysis activities.
Responsibilities:- Install, test, commission, and maintain high-voltage equipment including converters, transformers, filters, and control systems.
- Carry out diagnostics and fault finding on high-voltage systems using specialist tools and test equipment.
- Support monitoring of system performance and assist with operational testing and control activities.
- Ensure all work is completed in full compliance with high-voltage safety procedures, technical standards, and environmental requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation including maintenance records, test results, and system configurations.
- Operate in accordance with ISO9001 audited quality systems and procedures.
- Support product quality investigations and root cause analysis of failed hardware.

- Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience working with high-voltage electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of high-voltage safety procedures, including switching and lockout/tagout.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Experience working in a regulated production or engineering environment.
- Experience working with HVDC systems.
- HV Authorised Person (AP) certification.
- IPC J-STD-001 soldering certification.
- Familiarity with quality systems and formal engineering documentation.
