As an Electrical Assembly Technician, you will join a dedicated production team responsible for building technically complex, high-quality products. Working closely with Manufacturing Engineers and the Cargo Research Team, you will support the assembly of next-generation systems while contributing to product quality, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and wire electrical panels, control boxes, and sub-assemblies in line with schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Install electrical components including switches, relays, circuit breakers, and terminal blocks
  • Carry out continuity checks, insulation resistance testing, and functional testing
  • Identify and resolve wiring issues or component discrepancies during the build process
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly activities, test results, and modifications
  • Operate in compliance with ISO9001 audited quality systems
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on technical issues
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with 5S principles
  • Demonstrate behaviours aligned with the company’s Code of Ethics and core values: Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline
  • Experience in electrical or electro-mechanical assembly
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Confident use of hand tools, crimping tools, and soldering equipment
  • Understanding of basic electrical safety standards and practices

Desirable Experience

  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (Acceptability of Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies)
  • Experience in panel building, PLC wiring, or control systems
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments
