Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and results‑driven Project Manager to join our Product and Certifications team for a 15‑month fixed‑term contract. Reporting to the Director of Aviation Security Approvals, you will lead global government certification and approval projects for Rapiscan Systems’ Detection Business.

Responsibilities

  • Arrange all certification, data collection and trial activities for the Product and Certifications team.
  • Co‑ordinate with testing bodies, airports, and internal stakeholders across Rapiscan Detection Business units.
  • Develop, implement and maintain equipment approvals testing process.
  • Maintain project schedule and financial trackers; provide periodic progress reports.
  • Manage risk, develop mitigation plans, and monitor readiness of software, hardware and algorithms.
  • Serve as liaison between the Government Affairs team and other internal stakeholders, including Service, Engineering and Product Line Management.
  • Coordinate externally with test laboratories, authorities, contractors and customers.
  • Own all project aspects: documentation, Gantt/Schedule, progress reporting, documentation collection, pre‑testing gating reviews.
  • Lead delivery of equipment and support staff; confirm system completion to Bill of Materials before shipping.
  • Source required parts and services; coordinate installation and training resources.
  • Attend project meetings, record minutes and coordinate between the customer, Government Affairs and Certification teams.
  • Report quality problems and defects to ensure corrective action and prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience as a Project Manager, ideally in equipment installation projects (UK, Europe or North America).
  • Strong communicator with excellent written and oral skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop robust plans, assess risk and drive mitigation.
  • Experience managing multi‑stakeholder projects.
  • Knowledge of aviation security, screening or inspection equipment and familiarity with approvals/testing processes (preferred).
  • Ability to travel to Project Sites as required.

Knowledge, Training and Qualifications

  • UK security clearance (held or obtainable).
