Rapiscan Systems is an industry leader in detection technology, providing cargo and vehicle inspection systems and services for ports, borders, military, high-threat facilities, and checkpoints to help customers combat terrorism, drug smuggling, illegal immigration, and trade fraud.
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Service/Support Engineer to provide high-visibility technical support for our Cargo Vehicle Inspection (CVI) and RTT X-ray Detection Scanner systems across Belgium, Northern France, and Germany. This role involves on-site installation, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of complex equipment and systems, ensuring optimal operational quality and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Deliver on-site support for CVI and RTT systems, including installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and overhaul of hardware and software components.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues across hydraulic, electrical, electro-mechanical, and IT subsystems.
- Act as the primary technical liaison between the company and customers, providing guidance on system operation and maintenance.
- Respond to third-line technical support requests from field engineers, distributors, and customer representatives.
- Provide post-acceptance and defect liability support for mobile and airport cargo inspection systems.
- Participate in the installation of static, gantry, and portal CVI/RTT systems as part of a dedicated team.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, including service reports, engineering change requests, and database entries.
- Travel internationally up to 80% of the time, including Euro Tunnel, Dover to Poole.
Qualifications
- BTEC, C&G or HNC or similar qualification in an engineering discipline.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and electro/mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of IT Networking solutions, CCNP or Similar.
- Knowledge of integrated IT systems including PLC, HV systems and/or radar.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be expected to travel on a Global basis, at times at relatively short notice and to challenging destinations. Experience in a similar environment would be advantageous.
