This role would suiit an ex airport security officer who has worked with Xray scanning equipment.

Role Overview

We are currently seeking a proactive Image Lead Technician to oversee and coordinate our X-ray screening and image capture operations. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on ensuring the accuracy, security, and compliance of all image capture activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the image capture team, ensuring efficient and compliant screening of trays, bags, pallets, and other items.
  • Operate and oversee standard and CT X-ray machines (2D and 3D), ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for image capture, cataloguing, extraction, and upload.
  • Ensure all images are accurately indexed, named, and stored in line with digital asset management protocols.
  • Manage and audit dangerous goods inventories, ensuring secure access and regulatory compliance.
  • Implement quality assurance processes for image capture, data entry, and indexing.
  • Collaborate with IT and software teams to integrate image data into relevant platforms.
  • Coordinate access to screening equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
  • Train and mentor staff on screening procedures, data handling, and security protocols.
  • Conduct audits and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with compliance, security, and logistics teams to ensure regulatory alignment.
  • Lead incident response and troubleshooting related to equipment or data anomalies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across image capture workflows.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed to support bespoke image capture requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating and managing X-ray screening systems, including CT scanners, in regulated environments (e.g., airports, customs, secure logistics).
  • Proven leadership experience in technical or operational roles.
  • Strong knowledge of digital imaging workflows, data extraction, and cataloguing.
  • High proficiency in data entry systems and digital storage protocols.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
  • Ability to lift and manage items up to 25kg (with appropriate equipment).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Clean driving license.
  • Eligibility for security clearance may be required.
