OSI Electronics, UK is based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.

From design, prototype, and PCB assembly to volume box builds, we make electronic products for UK and overseas markets.

We focus on end-to-end electronic device manufacturing, customisable to meet the individual requirements of UK and International companies and Original Equipment Manufacturers.

We are seeking a Finance Manager who will be responsible for leading a team of two and the integrity of financial reporting, maintenance of robust financial controls, running the month-end and year-end close processes, and delivery of timely financial insight to support business performance and strategic decision-making.

The role oversees day-to-day finance operations, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and acts as a key business partner to senior leaders across the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Control
  • Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial close activities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
  • Maintain full ownership of balance sheet integrity, including review and approval of reconciliations.
  • Review and approve journals, accruals, provisions and prepayments.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting issues and reporting variances.
  • Management Accounting & Business Support
  • Prepare monthly performance reporting and financial analysis.
  • Analyse revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, inventory and working capital.
  • Provide commentary on actual versus budget and forecast performance.
  • Prepare board and leadership reporting packs.
  • Partner with operational leaders to improve financial performance.
  • Identify risks, opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Monitor inventory performance and working capital metrics.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Lead annual budget preparation and consolidation for UK company.
  • Coordinate monthly and quarterly forecasting cycles.
  • Challenge assumptions and ensure forecast robustness.
  • Monitor cash flow performance and cash forecasting whilst looking for improvements.
  • Compliance, Audit & Governance
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment.
  • Ensure compliance with delegated authority policies and company procedures.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, handle requests and remediation actions as needed.
  • Financial Systems & Process Improvement
  • Own core finance processes within D365 Finance & Operations.
  • Maintain and improve month-end procedures and finance process documentation.
  • Drive automation, standardisation and efficiency improvements.
  • Support implementation of systems, controls and reporting enhancements.
  • Team Leadership & Development.
  • Provide leadership and direction to finance team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and objective setting.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee and review Payroll, VAT and National Statistic reporting and compliance.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Deputise for the UK Financial Director in his absence.
  • Oversee and review Payroll, VAT and National Statistic reporting and compliance.
  • Corporation Tax return preparation and payments on account.
  • Cover Management Account and Assistant Accountant in their absence.

Ensure that direct report(s) are trained and evaluated on their knowledge and adherence to the company’s values, Code of Ethics and Conduct, and applicable compliance policies.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant with either CIMA, ACCA or ACA is essential.
  • Must have proven experience in finance related roles – e. g. financial planning and analysis, business analysis, financial modelling or forecasting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field desired.
  • Proven experience of 2+ years managing/leading finance teams is essential.
  • Proven experience with audit, legal compliance, and budget development is essential.
  • Success seeing beyond the numbers, identifying trends and working with operations. Essential.
  • Strong Excel and IT skills are essential.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems and operations is essential.
  • Experience in ERP implementation is desirable.
  • Experience using a financial consolidation package, ideally Oracle FCC, is desirable.
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written is essential.
  • Experience working for a USA multinational is desired.
