We are seeking a proactive and results‑driven Project Manager to join our Product and Certifications team for a 15‑month fixed term contract. Reporting to the Director of Aviation Security Approvals, you will lead global government certification and approval projects for Rapiscan Systems’ Detection Business.

This is a hands‑on role requiring strong coordination skills to manage trials, data collection, and certification processes. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, including testing bodies, airports, and government authorities, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Arrange all certification, data collection and trialling efforts under the responsibility of the Product and Certifications team.
  • Assist with liaison and co‑ordination with testing bodies, airports and various internal stakeholders and teams across Rapiscan Detection Business Units.
  • Help develop, implement and maintain the equipment approvals testing process.
  • Communicate to Senior Management & the Product and Certifications team members through Project Reviews and other means, providing updates and snapshots of the project, including project schedule trackers, financial trackers, and periodic reporting highlighting progress and issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitor algorithm development, software and hardware readiness.
  • Develop and implement risk management plans and mitigation strategies.
  • Co‑ordinate internally between the government affairs team and other stakeholders including Service, Engineering and Product Line Management teams.
  • Co‑ordinate externally with test laboratories, testing authorities, customers, and contractors.
  • Take ownership of all elements of the project, including maintaining the Project Gantt or Schedule, reporting progress, and collecting relevant required documentation for individual projects.
  • Manage pre‑testing and internal gating reviews prior to shipment for test/trial.
  • Co‑ordinate deliveries of equipment and deployment of support staff.
  • Confirm system compliance with the Bill of Materials (BoM) prior to shipping and upon arrival at the site, ensuring installation tools and spare packages are in full compliance with documentation requirements.
  • Manage sourcing of parts and services required by the project.
  • Work with identified installation and training resources to ensure that all availability, travel, planning, labour and other resources are in place to complete the project.
  • Attend project meetings, provide minutes, and coordinate between the customer and the Government Affairs and Certification teams.
  • Report any quality problems arising during the project, ensuring corrective action is implemented and recurrence is avoided.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years relevant experience as a Project Manager.
  • A strong communicator with excellent written and oral communication skills, able to articulate both the product and process to any customer or project stakeholder.
  • Ability to develop robust plans, assess risk, and develop and drive mitigation plans.
  • Experience managing equipment installation projects ideally globally but certainly within the UK, Europe and/or North America.
  • Ideally, knowledge of aviation security, screening or inspection equipment, and familiarity with approvals and testing processes.
  • Experience with multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required is a plus.

Ideally the candidate would hold, or be able to obtain, a UK security clearance.
