The Commissioning Engineer will play a key role in the production of x-ray equipment. They will be part of a small team responsible for commissioning complex hold baggage/parcel screening/Pax baggage x-ray systems and associated matrix solutions, within a production environment at the required MPS cadence.
Responsibilities:
- System electrical start up and system testing, following start-up/test procedures.
- Earth bond testing.
- Fault finding on HVPS, A/C, CT Tubes and associated hardware/software.
- Setup, configure and test image reconstruction and threat detection engine (SW&HW).
- Setup, configure and test PLC code and HMI functionality.
- Setup, configure and test Can bus systems.
- Conduct Image Quality (IQ) machine configuration process.
- Support the development of relevant testing documentation and work instructions.
- Collaboration with the engineering team to resolve issues and test new process/procedure changes.
- Assembly, configuration and fault finding of network/workstation solutions.
- Support customer Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Work with QA to resolve any quality and supplier issues.

- Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
- It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications:
- Experience in X-ray generation equipment is desired, but not essential.
- Experience with PLC controls, Allen Bradley platform with RS Logix is preferred.
- Experience of Can bus controls.
- Experience with complex IT systems, both Microsoft and Linux OS.
- Strong analytical outlook, combined with good communication skills.
- Proven experience in fault finding on complex electrical panels and circuits with the ability to rework any faults found whilst adhering to the required procedures.
- Experience of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kanban and CI methodology etc desirable.
- Qualifications, HNC and equivalents or minimum 2-3 years of experience.
