OSI Electronics, UK is based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. From design, prototype and PCB assembly to volume box builds, we make electronic products for UK and overseas markets. We focus on end-to-end electronic device manufacturing, customisable to meet the individual requirements of UK and International companies and Original Equipment Manufacturers.
Working within the PCBA process, you will hand assemble electronic, electro-mechanical circuit board assemblies. You will follow methods and sequence of operations in board building, hand soldering (predominantly TH/Conventional componentry), rework and inspection on printed circuit boards, adhering to internal production processes and workflow plans while reporting to the process supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Populating PCBAs with through hole components within pre-flow process while adhering to production documentation.
- Component kit prep and PCB cropping within the pre-flow process.
- Setting up equipment needed to assemble the printed circuit assemblies, i.e. ladder racks and assembly frames.
- Hand soldering through-hole components within hand-assembly process.
- Operating cropping and depaneling machines as well as PCBA cleaning machines.
- Learning and performing basic troubleshooting protocols and rework for non-conforming units.
- Ability to be flexible and handle priority changes as they occur.
- Meeting expected daily production requirements.
- Carrying out normal assembly tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience of assembling electronic assemblies.
- High school diploma or equivalent trade school education.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in the use of hand tools including soldering equipment, screwdrivers, wrenches, and heat guns, with good manual dexterity.
- Previous experience of being IPC-A-610 certified.
- Thorough understanding of workmanship standards and quality control procedures including compliance for ESD.
- Experience operating in a lean manufacturing environment.
