As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Process Supervisor to lead our SMT production operations and drive continuous improvement across our manufacturing processes.
The Opportunity
As Process Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of our SMT production area, ensuring manufacturing targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are consistently achieved. Key Responsibilities
- Lead SMT production activities to ensure products are manufactured in line with production schedules and customer requirements.
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities within the SMT Process Team to ensure efficient workflow and operational performance.
- Work closely with Planning, Engineering, Quality, Stores, and other supporting departments to ensure materials, tooling, and documentation are available when required.
- Ensure products are assembled and tested in accordance with defined build standards, procedures, and quality requirements.
- Support team members during new product introductions and product changes, ensuring understanding of specifications and manufacturing standards.
- Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and other key performance indicators, identifying trends and conducting root cause analysis where necessary.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, cost reduction, and Lean manufacturing principles.
- Coach, mentor, motivate, and develop team members to achieve their full potential.
- Conduct performance reviews, set SMART objectives, and provide regular feedback and development support.
- Support the Production Manager with recruitment activities and capital expenditure recommendations.
- Maintain accurate production records and material movement transactions within the manufacturing system.
- Promote and maintain high standards of ESD awareness, material handling, quality, and safety.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and quality management requirements.
- Report quality issues promptly and support corrective action activities to prevent recurrence.
- Undertake additional duties as required to support business objectives.
Requirements
Essential
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within an SMT or electronics manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of SMT manufacturing processes and electronics assembly.
- Experience working within a fast-paced production environment.
- Knowledge of production planning, quality standards, and manufacturing KPIs.
- Ability to analyse performance data and identify process improvements.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience coaching, developing, and managing team performance.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Desirable
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Understanding of OEE measurement and reporting.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP or shop-floor manufacturing systems.
- Knowledge of ESD controls and IPC standards.
