Responsibilities include:
- MIG & TIG welding of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium, typically from 1mm up to 20mm thick
- Working to engineering drawings
- Jig making
- Dressing and finishing
- Marking and identifying materials
- Set up and operate various manual metal processing machines
- Checking that finished products comply with specifications
- Perform mid and end of process quality inspections of items produced in the Fabrication department
- Complete required documentation (check sheets, build procedures)
- Help resolve routine questions and problems, liaising with Team leaders or Senior Fabricator/welders on more complex issues
- Understand, adhere to, and participate in all aspects of Lean processes as it pertains to JBT (focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost)
- Participate in JBT’s Relentless Continuous Improvement efforts by identifying and submitting, to the team leaders, a minimum of (3) opportunities for improvements per year
- Perform all duties in a safe manner and keep all employees aware of dangers in your work area
- Use material handling equipment to safely move parts, materials or components from one work area, department, or storage area to another as required
- Follow Safety, Health and Environment Rules and Responsibilities
- Practice good housekeeping in your own work area and the wider fabrication department
- Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion
