\n Due to increasing customer demand, we are looking for a skilled, reliable and motivated Electrician / Life Safety Systems Engineer to join our team.
\n This is a varied role covering electrical installation, maintenance, fault finding, testing, commissioning and servicing across domestic, commercial and supported housing environments.
\n You will work across a wide range of electrical and life safety systems, including fire detection, domestic smoke alarms, warden call systems, emergency lighting, access control and door entry systems.

\n - \n Key Responsibilities
\n The role will include:
\n \n - Carrying out electrical installation, maintenance and repair works in accordance with
- Installing, servicing, maintaining and fault-finding on:
\n - Domestic smoke alarm systems.
\n - Fire alarm systems.
\n - Emergency lighting systems.
\n - Warden call and dispersed alarm systems.
\n - Access control systems.
\n - Door entry systems.
\n - Domestic electrical systems, including lighting, sockets and extractor fans.
\n - Carrying out electrical inspection and testing and completing the required certification.
\n - Diagnosing and repairing electrical and electronic faults efficiently.
\n - Completing planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair works.
\n - Reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications and site instructions.
\n - Ensuring all works comply with current British Standards, regulations, manufacturer requirements and OSG procedures.
\n - Completing job sheets, service reports, test documentation and digital records accurately.
\n - Liaising professionally with customers, residents, housing associations, site managers and other contractors.
\n - Maintaining company tools, vehicles, test equipment and stock.
\n - Supporting apprentices and junior engineers when required.
\n - Working in accordance with company health & safety procedures, RAMS and asbestos awareness requirements.
\n - Participating in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota where required.

\n Essential Skills & Experience
\n Applicants should have:
\n \n - Recognised qualifications as a qualified electrician .
\n - Current
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
\n - Good electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience.
\n - Experience of domestic smoke alarm installations in accordance with
- Experience installing and maintaining warden call systems, preferably including
- Tynetec Advent XT2, Tunstall and Appello systems.
\n - Experience with access control systems, ideally including
- CAME KMS .
\n - A full UK driving licence.
\n - Good communication and customer service skills.
\n - The ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
\n - Confidence using smartphones, tablets and digital job management systems.
\n
\n Experience working for or within a NICEIC or NAPIT registered electrical contractor would be advantageous.
\n Desirable Qualifications & Experience
\n The following would be beneficial:
\n \n - Inspection & Testing qualification, such as
- City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent .
\n - Fire alarm installation, servicing and fault-finding experience.
\n - Experience with warden call, dispersed alarm or nurse call systems.
\n - Knowledge of relevant standards including
- BS 5839 and emergency lighting requirements.
\n - IPAF certification.
\n - PASMA certification.
\n - ECS card.
\n - Previous experience working within social housing, sheltered housing or supported living environments.
\n
