We are seeking a UK (London) based experienced Salesforce Technical Lead with CPQ cloud experience, to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading the development and customization of Salesforce solutions to meet client needs and enhance business processes, having strong expertise in CPQ and backend development to lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable Salesforce solutions. The role combines hands‑on technical leadership, architectural oversight, and team mentorship within complex, enterprise‑grade Quote‑to‑Cash environments. The ideal candidate will drive high‑performance CPQ implementations while collaborating closely with cross‑functional stakeholders and ensuring best practices in development, integration, scalability.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of back‑end developers working on CPQ related solutions, providing strong technical guidance, architectural direction, and ongoing support.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, CPQ solution architects, frontend developers, and business stakeholders to define, plan, and achieve project goals aligned with CPQ and commercial requirements.
- Design and implement robust backend architectures that support CPQ scalability, performance, and complex pricing, configuration, and quoting models.
- Oversee the development of server‑side logic supporting CPQ processes, including pricing engines, rule evaluation, approvals, and integrations, as well as the definition and maintenance of underlying databases, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to CPQ requests from the frontend.
- Ensure code quality, consistency, and long term maintainability by performing code reviews, enforcing coding standards, and promoting CPQ and backend best practices within the team.
- Troubleshoot and debug CPQ related backend applications, optimizing code for performance, scalability, and reliability under high transaction volumes.
- Stay up to date with emerging backend technologies, CPQ platforms, and integration patterns, and assess their applicability to current and future CPQ implementations.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including CPQ system architecture, backend design specifications, and integration flows.
- Work closely with DevOps teams to streamline deployment, monitoring, and operational processes for CPQ related backend services.
- Act as the technical point of contact for backend and CPQ related development issues, providing expertise and guidance across project teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Back‑End Developer with a strong track record of delivering enterprise‑grade Salesforce solutions, including CPQ and pricing‑related systems.
- Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring backend development teams in complex, multi‑system environments.
- Strong knowledge of backend development using Salesforce APEX and integration patterns within the Salesforce platform.
- Hands‑on experience with database technologies (Salesforce data model, SOQL, and integration with SQL/NoSQL systems) and high‑availability web services environments.
- Strong familiarity with RESTful API design, micro‑services architecture, and integrations within the Salesforce ecosystem (CRM, Billing, OMS, Revenue Cloud), external systems such as ERP.
- Experience implementing and optimizing CPQ logic (Product Rules, Price Rules, approvals, contract lifecycle) and designing scalable back‑end solutions for transactional systems.
- Proficiency with version control tools such as Git and collaborative development workflows (CI/CD in Salesforce environments).
- Strong understanding of server‑side logic, scalability challenges, governor limits, and performance optimization within Salesforce CPQ environments.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross‑functional teams and business stakeholders.
- Fluency in English.
