We have an exciting opportunity for a Patient Services Advisor to join our Front of House team based in Hemel Hempstead. You will join us on a weekend, part-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary plus benefits.

Main Duties of the Job

  • To welcome visitors and patients to OSH and to assist them in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional, in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
  • Maintain a visible presence and be pro‑active in communicating with patients, doctors, consultants, and other members of the clinic team.
  • To undertake a variety of administrative duties including those associated with billing and payments, to ensure the smooth running of the clinic.

About You

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Good standard of general education with GCSE (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.
  • Experience of working in a public reception environment and managing face‑to‑face communications with patients/members of the public.
  • Good numeracy, keyboard and computer skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Person Specification

Education / Qualifications

  • Good standard of general education with GCSE (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.
  • Evidence of completing Microsoft Office training.

Experience

  • Experience of working in a public reception environment.
  • Experience managing face‑to‑face communication with the patients/public.
  • Experience of using electronic patient record systems.

Knowledge / Skills

  • Good numeracy, keyboard and computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • An understanding, acceptance, and adherence to the need for confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a busy hospital environment.
  • Knowledge of dealing with aspects of billing.
