About the role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Participate in the delivery of high standards of care to patients and their families.
- Take responsibility for the pre-operative anaesthetic and medical assessment of patients undergoing surgery who will be requiring a Local Anaesthetic, Sedation and General Anaesthetic.
- Ensure that all necessary investigations and results are collated for the patients’ admission.
- Take responsibility for own self-development helping to provide a suitable learning environment and high standards of clinical practice.
- To recognise own limitations and seek advice and support from Line Manager.
About you
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications,skills and experience:
- Be aRegistered Nurse with post registration relevant clinical course and active NMC registration.
- Experience and knowledge of working in Pre-Operative Assessment with advance assessment skills in a POA or equivalent background.
- Participate and assist in the development of policies, guidelines, and patient information.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively communicate with patients/relatives/carers and all members of the multi-disciplinary team
