Service Architect | £600-£700 p/day (IIR35) | Remote (occasional visits to client) | 6-12 months | Consultancy background
A huge tech consultancy is seeking an experienced Service Architect to help shape, design, and deliver service models for enterprise clients undergoing complex transformation. This is a contract role with the possibility to convert to permanent.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, design, and implement client operating models and service-specific solutions
- Conduct structured service assessments, including ITSM maturity and MSP contractual compliance
- Capture operational requirements and trace them through design, build, and transition phases
- Develop operational governance frameworks (reporting, compliance, risk, communication, skills)
- Lead organisational design and transformation initiatives
- Evolve and promote the consultancy’s service offerings
- Contribute to pre-sales conversations (not drafting but supporting proposals)
- Confidence to engage in technical discussions and influence stakeholders
- Ability to articulate complex models clearly for different audiences (CTO level to ops engineers)
Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years in Service Management, with a strong consulting/advisory background or senior stakeholder experience
- ITIL certification preferable (hands-on expertise more important)
- Experience with Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF); certification advantageous
- Proven application of Service Architecture concepts in technical contexts (e.g. cloud migration, observability tools integration)
- Broad understanding of modern technology environments (Cloud, AI infrastructure, traditional stacks)
Candidates will be required to go through background checks before commencing contract.
Must be eligible to live and work in the specified work location.
