About Life In Abundance UK
Life In Abundance UK is a Christian international development charity committed to enabling families and communities across Africa and the Caribbean to move from poverty towards lasting flourishing. We work through local churches and community-based organisations, equipping communities to lead sustainable transformation. As the UK Ministry Support Office, LIA-UK mobilises prayer, people, partnerships and resources to advance this mission.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an accomplished, enterprising and relationship-focused fundraising professional to identify opportunities, open doors, secure funding and build enduring partnerships. You will take substantial ownership of developing our fundraising and partnership portfolio, working closely with the Executive Director and colleagues across the wider Life In Abundance Partnership. This is an active fundraising role with considerable scope for initiative, judgement and impact.
Key Responsibilities
Trusts, Foundations & Institutional Funding
- Identify and qualify trusts, foundations and institutional funders aligned with our mission.
- Develop compelling grant applications, funding proposals and cases for support.
- Manage funding opportunities from research and application through reporting, stewardship and renewal.
- Pursue multi-year funding, repeat grants and sustainable income.
Prospect Research & Fundraising Intelligence
- Research prospective funders, philanthropists, major donors, churches and strategic partners.
- Identify new opportunities, networks and routes of introduction.
- Prepare prospect profiles, briefing papers and recommendations that lead to action.
Strategic Partnerships & Major Relationships
- Cultivate relationships with churches, Christian organisations, philanthropists, businesses and major donors.
- Build and manage a portfolio of priority prospects and develop tailored partnership propositions.
- Support the Executive Director in significant institutional and philanthropic relationships.
CRM, Pipeline & Performance
- Manage fundraising opportunities and relationship records using Virtuous CRM.
- Maintain an active pipeline and produce reports, forecasts and fundraising intelligence.
Donor Engagement & Representation
- Support donor stewardship, fundraising appeals and compelling cases for support.
- Represent LIA-UK at selected church gatherings, conferences and strategic meetings.
- Support partnership-related international visits and mission engagement where required.
About You
You will be an accomplished fundraiser with a demonstrable record of achievement. Around five years’ relevant fundraising, partnership-development or income-generation experience is desirable, but this is a guide rather than an absolute threshold.
- Proven fundraising experience, particularly with trusts and foundations, and excellent grant‑writing skills.
- Strong prospect research, networking, relationship‑building and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Experience developing new opportunities and taking them through to tangible results.
- Excellent communication, organisation, initiative and professional judgement.
- Experience using CRM systems and the ability to work independently in a home‑based role.
- Experience within a Christian charity, church, mission organisation or international development setting, and relevant professional networks, would be advantageous.
