Overview

In this role you will own complex robotics and automation projects from concept to delivery within a specialist engineering business serving aerospace leaders.

You will manage multiple projects, coordinate internal engineers and external suppliers, and maintain high standards of quality and timing.

You’ll apply systems thinking to integrate multidisciplinary work and drive continuous improvement.

You will work closely with blue-chip customers to ensure successful outcomes and measurable impact.

This is a technically challenging, customer-facing opportunity with ownership over project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage 2–3 engineering projects simultaneously with values up to 2m
  • Lead projects from requirements through development, integration, testing and delivery
  • Coordinate 2–6 internal engineers, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Manage customer and internal/external stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle
  • Apply robotics, automation and systems engineering to complex projects
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities and system-level requirements
  • Monitor schedules, resources, risks and milestones to ensure on-time, on-spec delivery
  • Develop and implement recovery plans when projects fall behind
  • Lead project meetings, technical reviews and customer presentations
  • Maintain project documentation, reporting and technical records
  • Ensure projects meet customer, quality and engineering requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement across project delivery processes
  • Key requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Project Engineer, Systems Engineer or similar in an engineering environment
  • Strong knowledge of robotics, automation and systems engineering
  • Experience managing projects up to 2m and multiple projects concurrently
  • Experience coordinating engineers, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to manage project schedules, identify risks and recover projects
  • Strong communication, organisation, prioritisation and problem-solving skills
