Overview
In this Lead Platform Engineer role, you own and evolve the cloud platform to support a growing data business. You’ll shape and automate Azure-based infrastructure while guiding reliability, security, and cost efficiency. You will drive a cloud separation and migration programme across Azure and GCP and set engineering standards for DevOps, IaC, and observability. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to improve platform reliability and developer experience, delivering a scalable, secure, and automated platform. This is a hands-on, ownership-focused opportunity with meaningful impact on the company’s data capabilities and API platform.

Responsibilities
- Own and manage the Azure cloud estate with security, reliability, and cost focus
- Lead adoption of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code, including bringing existing infra under management
- Operate Kubernetes workloads (deployments, ingress, scaling, upgrades, troubleshooting)
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
- Support cloud migration and separation projects across Azure and GCP
- Design, automate and test disaster recovery and business continuity solutions
- Improve monitoring, alerting and observability across the platform
- Manage cloud security, identity, secrets and certificates
- Provide technical guidance on Azure architecture and platform engineering
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and act as senior escalation point
- Collaborate with development/technology teams to improve platform reliability and developer experience
