We're recruiting an experienced Accounts Supervisor to join a growing accountancy practice in Uckfield.
This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT, ACA or ACCA-qualified accountant with strong UK practice experience who is looking to take the next step in their career.
You'll manage a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients, taking responsibility for accounts preparation, client relationships and day-to-day accounting requirements, while supporting Managers and Partners and developing junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients and act as a key contact for accounting matters
- Prepare and review year-end statutory accounts
- Work with SMEs and owner-managed businesses
- Prepare management accounts and financial information
- Assist with corporation tax computations and returns
- Support personal tax work where required
- Review bookkeeping and accounting records for accuracy
- Provide clients with practical accounting and financial support
- Liaise directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
- Support Managers and Partners on more complex assignments
- Review junior team members' work and provide guidance
- Assist with training and developing junior staff
- Manage workloads, budgets and deadlines effectively
About You
- Previous accountancy practice experience managing a client portfolio
- AAT, ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and general accounting principles
- Good understanding of UK accounting standards and compliance
- Experience working with SME and owner-managed business clients
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Confident communicator with excellent client relationship skills
- Comfortable reviewing work and supporting junior colleagues
- Proactive, professional and commercially aware
