We're recruiting an experienced VAT Senior Manager to join a growing accountancy practice in Taunton.
This is a senior opportunity for a VAT specialist with strong technical expertise and commercial awareness. You'll advise a varied client portfolio on complex indirect tax matters, develop client relationships, generate new business and play a key role in the continued growth of the VAT team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of VAT and indirect tax advisory services
- Advise clients on complex VAT transactions and technical issues
- Provide specialist advice on land and property, partial exemption and international VAT
- Advise charities and not-for-profit organisations on VAT matters
- Act as a senior point of contact for clients, Partners and colleagues
- Build and develop strong client relationships
- Manage and grow your own VAT portfolio
- Identify new business opportunities through networking and referrals
- Support and develop junior VAT professionals
- Work collaboratively with wider Tax and Advisory teams
- Keep up to date with VAT legislation, HMRC guidance and industry developments
- Contribute to the strategic development and growth of the VAT practice
About You
- Significant experience in VAT and indirect taxation
- Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of VAT matters
- Previous experience within an accountancy or professional services environment
- Experience advising on property, partial exemption, international VAT and complex transactions
- Strong client relationship and advisory skills
- Commercially minded with proven business development and networking ability
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Leadership and mentoring experience
- Self-motivated, proactive and commercially focused
