We are recruiting a Private Tax Manager for a well-established and growing accountancy and business advisory firm based in Stamford. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced private tax professional to manage a diverse client portfolio, provide high-level advisory support, and continue progressing within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.
This role is ideal for an experienced Private Tax Assistant Manager looking to step up, or an existing Private Tax Manager seeking broader exposure and clearer progression.
The Role
As a Private Tax Manager, you will play a key role in delivering UK private tax compliance and advisory services to a varied portfolio of clients, working closely with directors and senior leadership. You will act as a technical expert across a range of private client tax matters, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within agreed deadlines.
You will manage client relationships on a day-to-day basis, identifying complex tax issues and providing practical and commercially focused solutions. You will also maintain proactive communication with client relationship managers and senior stakeholders, ensuring they are kept informed on project progress and any issues are escalated where necessary.
The role will involve overseeing and developing junior team members through regular one-to-ones, objective setting, and performance reviews, helping to support their ongoing development and progression.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business, you will scope client requirements, manage assignments effectively, and ensure work is delivered efficiently and within budget.
The position offers exposure to a wide range of private client tax matters, providing excellent opportunities to strengthen both your technical and advisory expertise.
About You
You will be ACA, ACCA, CTA, or ATT qualified, with a minimum of three years' post-qualification experience gained within a UK accountancy practice or tax environment. You will have strong technical knowledge across inheritance tax, capital gains tax, trusts, income tax, allowances, and incorporation work.
Previous people management experience, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage client relationships effectively are essential. You will also demonstrate excellent communication skills, commercial awareness, and a proactive approach to your work.
