We're recruiting an experienced Accounts Manager to join a busy and growing accountancy practice in Taunton.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA-qualified accountant with a strong general practice background to manage a varied portfolio of clients and play an important role in supporting and developing the wider team.
You'll work with sole traders, partnerships, LLPs and limited companies, providing a broad range of accounts, tax and VAT services while building strong, long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors
- Review accounts prepared by junior team members, ensuring files meet a high standard
- Support the preparation of accounts in line with relevant accounting standards
- Deal with accounting, taxation and VAT queries
- Manage workflow and ensure client deadlines are consistently met
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
- Act as a trusted point of contact for your portfolio
- Coach, mentor and support junior team members and trainees
- Work closely with senior leadership and Partners on client assignments
- Identify opportunities to provide additional services and add value to clients
About You
- ACA or ACCA qualified, or equivalent
- Proven experience managing a broad portfolio within an accountancy practice
- Strong general practice experience across accounts, tax and VAT
- Previous experience leading, coaching or supervising junior staff
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Commercially minded with a proactive approach
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team
