Accounts Senior Manager – Poole

We're recruiting an Accounts Senior Manager in Poole on behalf of a highly respected and growing accountancy and business advisory firm.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ACA or ACCA qualified accountant to take a senior leadership role, managing a diverse portfolio of entrepreneurial and owner-managed businesses while providing high-level accounting, tax and commercial advice.
The Role
You'll work closely with Partners and Directors, taking ownership of key client relationships, leading complex assignments and developing the wider accounts team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and grow a diverse portfolio of business clients
- Act as a trusted adviser to entrepreneurial and owner-managed businesses
- Lead key client relationships and attend senior-level meetings
- Review statutory accounts, corporation tax and personal tax work
- Provide accounting, tax and commercial advice
- Resolve complex technical and client issues
- Support Partners and Directors with strategic client work
- Identify business development and cross-selling opportunities
- Manage WIP, budgets, billing, recoverability and portfolio profitability
- Lead, mentor and develop Managers, Seniors and junior team members
- Ensure high-quality service delivery and strong risk management
- Contribute to the continued growth and development of the accounts team
About You
You'll be ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience, with significant accountancy practice experience and a strong track record of managing clients and teams.
You'll ideally have:
- Significant UK accountancy practice experience
- Experience at Manager, Senior Manager or equivalent level
- Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and tax
- Proven experience managing a substantial client portfolio
- Strong commercial and business advisory skills
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills
- Experience with WIP, billing and portfolio profitability
- Strong business development and networking skills
- A proactive, commercially minded and strategic approach
