We are partnering with a leading, growing accountancy and advisory firm in Manchester to recruit a VAT Senior Manager. This is a senior, client-facing role for an experienced VAT professional looking to lead advisory projects, strengthen client relationships, and help shape the future of the firm’s VAT offering.

About the RoleYou will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of entrepreneurial and owner-managed clients, providing high-level VAT advice and guidance across compliance, advisory, and transactional matters. Working closely with the VAT Partner and senior leadership, you’ll deliver complex VAT solutions, advise on corporate transactions, and act as a trusted point of contact for clients, lawyers, and professional advisors.
A key part of the role is team leadership and development. You’ll mentor junior colleagues, support their technical growth, contribute to internal training initiatives, and foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment.
Additionally, you’ll support the firm’s growth by identifying new business opportunities, contributing to proposals, pitches, and cross-service line collaboration, helping expand the firm’s VAT offering.
About YouYou will be ACA or CTA qualified (preferred), with proven experience in VAT advisory gained in a UK accountancy or advisory practice. You will have strong commercial awareness, a track record of delivering VAT projects, and the confidence to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
You are a proactive, client-focused professional who enjoys mentoring junior staff, working collaboratively across teams, and contributing to a supportive and positive culture. Excellent communication skills and the ability to solve complex VAT issues practically are essential.
