We are recruiting an Accounts & Audit Manager for a well-established and growing accountancy and business advisory firm based in Droitwich. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional to take ownership of a varied portfolio of accounts and audit clients, build strong client relationships, and play a key role in developing both clients and team members within a progressive and supportive firm.
This role is ideal for an experienced Assistant Manager looking to step into a management position, or an existing Manager seeking a new challenge with greater responsibility and career progression.
The RoleAs an Accounts & Audit Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts and audit clients on behalf of the partners, ensuring assignments are delivered to a high technical standard and within agreed deadlines. You will work closely with clients to plan audit and accounts engagements, review financial statements, oversee audit assignments, and ensure all statutory and tax compliance requirements are met. Maintaining proactive and professional communication with clients throughout the year will be a key part of the role, alongside identifying opportunities to provide additional advisory and business support services.
You will review accounts and audit files, providing detailed commentary and recommendations for partner and RI review, while ensuring the timely completion and submission of year-end accounts, corporation tax returns, and associated filings. The role will also involve mentoring and developing junior team members, supporting trainees and qualified staff through coaching, feedback, and performance reviews. You will work closely with senior leadership to ensure strong succession planning, team development, and continued delivery of high-quality client service.
Alongside portfolio management responsibilities, you will contribute to business development activities, networking opportunities, and initiatives aimed at improving departmental performance and client service delivery. The role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of sectors, providing excellent opportunities to further develop both your technical expertise and leadership capabilities.
About YouYou will be ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified through relevant experience), with strong accounts and audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment. You will have experience managing client relationships, reviewing accounts and audit assignments, and supporting the successful delivery of client portfolios. Strong communication skills, commercial awareness, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively are essential. Previous experience mentoring or managing junior team members would be highly advantageous.
