Accounts Assistant Manager β Exeter Exeter, Devon | Hybrid Working | Competitive Salary + Benefits We're recruiting an Accounts Assistant Manager to join a specialist Agriculture team in Exeter on behalf of a highly respected accountancy and business advisory firm. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional looking to progress into an Assistant Manager position, working with a diverse portfolio of farming families, landed estates, rural businesses and owner-managed enterprises. The Role You'll manage a varied portfolio and provide high-quality accounting, tax compliance and advisory support, working closely with senior team members and directly with clients. Key responsibilities include: Oversee the preparation of farm and rural business accounts and tax computations Review accounts and tax work for sole traders, partnerships, companies and trusts Review personal, trust and company tax computations and VAT returns Prepare IHT returns and CGT 60-day property returns Oversee bookkeeping, forecasts and financial projections Identify accounting, tax and commercial planning opportunities Liaise with clients and HMRC Support business start-ups and other advisory work Attend client meetings and farm visits Build strong, long-term client relationships Support and develop junior members of the team About You You'll have experience within an accountancy practice and a strong grounding in accounts preparation and tax compliance. Ideally, you'll have: AAT, ACA or ACCA qualification, or be working towards qualification Experience in a similar Accounts Senior or Assistant Manager role Strong accounts preparation and tax compliance knowledge Experience working with different business structures Knowledge of accounting and tax software Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Strong communication and client relationship skills A proactive, commercial and client-focused approach What's on Offer Hybrid and flexible working Specialist Agriculture
