We're recruiting an experienced Audit Senior to join a growing accountancy practice in Plymouth.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA/ACCA-qualified accountant or finalist with UK practice audit experience who is looking for a varied, client-facing role with strong progression opportunities.
You'll take responsibility for audit assignments from planning through to completion, working closely with SMEs and owner-managed businesses while developing trusted client relationships and providing commercially focused insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion
- Perform statutory audits across a varied portfolio of SME and OMB clients
- Identify audit risks and ensure appropriate procedures are completed
- Review the work of junior audit staff
- Provide coaching, guidance and feedback to junior team members
- Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted adviser
- Manage workloads, budgets and deadlines effectively
- Identify opportunities to provide additional advisory services
- Liaise with Managers, Partners and other departments
- Communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients
- Keep up to date with UK accounting and auditing standards
- Ensure consistently high standards of audit quality and client service
About You
- ACA/ACCA qualified or finalist with strong relevant experience
- Previous audit experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Experience working with SMEs and owner-managed businesses
- Strong knowledge of audit procedures and accounting standards
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Commercially aware with a proactive approach
- Confident managing multiple assignments and competing deadlines
- Professional, personable and committed to delivering excellent client service
