We're recruiting an Employment Tax Director in Exeter on behalf of a highly respected and growing accountancy and business advisory firm. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Employment Tax leader to take a senior strategic role, leading complex advisory work, developing key client relationships and driving the continued growth of the Employment Tax offering.

The Role

  • Lead complex and high-risk employment tax advisory engagements
  • Act as a trusted adviser to senior client stakeholders, boards and committees
  • Advise on PAYE, NICs, benefits-in-kind, IR35, global mobility and reward strategy
  • Lead IR35, global mobility and reward planning projects
  • Oversee HMRC enquiries, audits and employment tax risk reviews
  • Support M&A transactions through employment tax due diligence and post-deal integration
  • Develop and grow existing client relationships
  • Originate new business and identify opportunities to expand the Employment Tax offering
  • Work with Partners to shape and deliver the practice growth strategy
  • Identify and develop new employment tax services in response to market demand
  • Lead, mentor and develop senior team members and future leaders
  • Contribute to the firm's wider market presence, networking and thought leadership

About You

  • You'll be ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified, or have equivalent experience, with significant UK employment tax experience at Director or equivalent level.
  • Extensive UK Employment Tax experience
  • Proven experience leading complex advisory engagements
  • Strong technical knowledge across PAYE, NICs, IR35, benefits and reward
  • Experience advising senior stakeholders and boards
  • A strong track record in business development and revenue growth
  • Experience developing and expanding client relationships
  • Commercial and strategic acumen
  • Excellent leadership and influencing skills
  • Experience mentoring and developing high-performing teams
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial and growth-focused approach
