Personal Tax Manager – Truro

We're recruiting a Personal Tax Manager in Truro on behalf of a highly respected and growing accountancy and business advisory firm.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced private client tax professional to join a specialist team, managing a varied portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, trusts and private clients while delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services.
The Role
You'll manage your own portfolio of private clients, working closely with senior tax professionals to provide practical, commercially focused tax advice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage a portfolio of HNW individuals, private clients and trusts
- Prepare and review Self-Assessment tax returns and complex tax computations
- Provide tax planning advice across IHT, CGT, residence and domicile
- Advise UK and non-UK resident individuals on property and investment matters
- Prepare technical reports, letters and written tax advice
- Attend client meetings and identify tax planning opportunities
- Deal directly with clients, HMRC, solicitors and other professional advisers
- Review work prepared by junior team members
- Mentor and support junior staff with their technical development
- Identify opportunities to introduce wider services across the firm
- Ensure client work is delivered accurately and within deadlines
About You
You'll have previous experience in UK Private Client Tax, ideally gained within an accountancy practice or professional services environment.
You'll ideally have:
- ATT or CTA qualification, or equivalent experience
- Strong personal tax compliance and advisory experience
- Good knowledge of IHT, CGT, trusts, residence and domicile
- Experience advising HNW individuals and private clients
- Strong technical and report-writing skills
- Excellent client relationship and communication abilities
- Experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A professional, discreet and client-focused approach
