We're recruiting an Accounts Senior for a leading accountancy practice in Truro, working with a varied portfolio of clients including law firms, professional practices and owner-managed businesses.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Accounts Senior or Practice Accountant looking for a varied role covering accounts, audit, tax, VAT and bookkeeping, with the opportunity to develop specialist experience within the legal sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare year-end statutory accounts
- Work with law firms and professional services clients
- Assist with audit planning, fieldwork and testing
- Prepare management accounts and financial forecasts
- Prepare personal, partnership and corporation tax computations
- Prepare VAT returns
- Complete bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
- Analyse financial information and provide commercial insight
- Manage workloads, budgets and deadlines
- Build strong relationships with clients
- Support and supervise junior team members
About You
- AAT, ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified or studying
- Previous accountancy practice experience
- Experience in accounts preparation and ideally audit
- Good knowledge of UK accounts and tax
- Strong Excel and accounting software skills
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Well organised with strong attention to detail
- Legal client or Solicitors' Accounts Rules (SAR) experience advantageous
- Proactive, professional and client-focused
