We're recruiting an Accounts Manager for a leading accountancy practice in Truro.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Manager or Assistant Manager to manage a varied portfolio of SMEs and owner-managed businesses, providing accounts, tax and business advisory services while developing strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients
- Prepare and review statutory and management accounts
- Review corporation tax computations and returns
- Review VAT returns and other compliance work
- Provide accounting, tax and commercial advice
- Act as a trusted advisor and key client contact
- Manage budgets, WIP, billing and assignment profitability
- Identify opportunities for additional services
- Support Partners and Directors with client meetings and business development
- Supervise, coach and develop junior team members
- Resolve technical accounting and tax issues
- Ensure work is delivered accurately, efficiently and on time
About You
- ACA or ACCA qualified, or equivalent
- Strong accountancy practice experience
- Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients
- Strong technical knowledge across accounts and tax
- Experience reviewing work and managing junior staff
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills
- Commercially aware with a strong business focus
- Highly organised with excellent time management
- Confident leading client meetings
- Proactive, professional and keen to progress
