We're recruiting an experienced Audit Manager to join a growing accountancy practice in Taunton.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA-qualified accountant with strong audit experience to take ownership of a varied portfolio, lead complex assignments and develop key client relationships. You'll also play a central role in mentoring the wider audit team and supporting the continued growth of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage audit assignments from planning through to completion
- Lead complex audits across a varied portfolio of SME and owner-managed clients
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, resolving queries and providing commercial insight
- Review audit files and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations
- Supervise, mentor and develop Audit Seniors, Semi-Seniors and trainees
- Manage budgets, workflow and deadlines to ensure efficient delivery
- Support Partners with technical matters and client development
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance client service
- Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the audit team
About You
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Proven experience managing audits within an accountancy practice
- Strong technical knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards
- Excellent client management and relationship-building skills
- Experience leading and developing audit teams
- Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Confident working with Partners, clients and colleagues at all levels
- Proactive, ambitious and committed to delivering high-quality work
