We're recruiting a VAT Manager for a growing accountancy practice in Solihull.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced VAT professional looking for a technically interesting, advisory-focused role with strong client exposure and clear progression towards Senior Manager.
You'll work closely with the VAT Director on complex advisory projects while helping to develop the firm's growing VAT service line.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex VAT advisory projects across a varied client portfolio
- Advise on land and property VAT, M&A and corporate finance transactions
- Provide technical VAT advice to clients and internal teams
- Research and resolve complex VAT and indirect tax issues
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Identify business development and VAT advisory opportunities
- Work with Directors and Partners on proposals and new business
- Support the growth and development of the VAT team
- Contribute to webinars, seminars and professional events
- Develop your technical expertise and professional profile
About You
- Proven experience in UK VAT, ideally within an accountancy or professional services practice
- Strong technical knowledge of VAT legislation and advisory matters
- Experience with VAT advisory projects
- Commercially aware with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident dealing with clients and senior stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a wider team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant tax software
- CTA qualification advantageous but not essential
- Ambitious and keen to progress towards VAT Senior Manager
