We're recruiting an experienced Audit Senior to join a growing accountancy practice in Plymouth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA/ACCA-qualified accountant or finalist with UK practice audit experience who is looking for a varied, client-facing role with strong progression opportunities.

You'll take responsibility for audit assignments from planning through to completion, working closely with SMEs and owner-managed businesses while developing trusted client relationships and providing commercially focused insight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion
  • Perform statutory audits across a varied portfolio of SME and OMB clients
  • Identify audit risks and ensure appropriate procedures are completed
  • Review the work of junior audit staff
  • Provide coaching, guidance and feedback to junior team members
  • Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted adviser
  • Manage workloads, budgets and deadlines effectively
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional advisory services
  • Liaise with Managers, Partners and other departments
  • Communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients
  • Keep up to date with UK accounting and auditing standards
  • Ensure consistently high standards of audit quality and client service

About You

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or finalist with strong relevant experience
  • Previous audit experience within a UK accountancy practice
  • Experience working with SMEs and owner-managed businesses
  • Strong knowledge of audit procedures and accounting standards
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members
  • Excellent client relationship and communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Commercially aware with a proactive approach
  • Confident managing multiple assignments and competing deadlines
  • Professional, personable and committed to delivering excellent client service
