We're recruiting an experienced VAT Manager to join a growing accountancy practice in Bristol.
This is an excellent opportunity for a VAT specialist with strong technical knowledge who enjoys advising clients, building relationships and developing business opportunities. You'll work closely with Partners, colleagues and clients, providing practical advice across a broad range of indirect tax matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on a wide range of VAT and indirect tax matters
- Advise clients on complex and technical VAT transactions
- Provide VAT advice relating to land and property
- Advise on partial exemption, international services and cross-border VAT
- Support clients operating within the charity and not-for-profit sectors
- Identify and resolve VAT issues while providing commercially focused solutions
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Work closely with Partners and colleagues across the wider practice
- Identify opportunities for additional services and business development
- Develop and grow your own VAT client portfolio
- Keep up to date with changes in VAT legislation and HMRC guidance
About You
- Strong experience in VAT and indirect taxation
- Previous experience within an accountancy or professional services practice
- Good technical knowledge across a broad range of VAT issues
- Experience with property, partial exemption, international VAT and complex transactions
- Charity and not-for-profit VAT experience desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong client relationship and advisory skills
- Commercially aware and proactive
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Comfortable with networking and business development
