We are recruiting a Private Client Tax Manager on behalf of a highly respected and growing accountancy practice in Crawley. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced private client tax professional to join a specialist team, managing a varied portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, and business owners while developing your advisory expertise. This role is ideal for an established Private Client Tax Manager or an experienced Assistant Manager looking to progress their career within a supportive and technically strong tax team.
The Role
- Managing a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, families, and trusts
- Delivering private client tax advisory projects
- Preparing and reviewing personal tax returns and complex tax computations
- Advising on Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Inheritance Tax (IHT), trusts, and estate planning
- Attending client meetings and building long-term relationships
- Preparing technical reports and tax advice
- Supporting business sales, succession planning, and family wealth structuring
- Advising on trust taxation and 10-year charge calculations
- Identifying and resolving complex technical tax issues
- Working closely with Tax Partners and specialist teams on advisory assignments
This role offers an excellent balance of compliance and advisory work, making it ideal for someone looking to further develop their private client tax planning experience.
About You
- You’ll have experience working within Private Client Tax in a UK accountancy practice and be confident managing your own client portfolio.
- Strong experience in UK Private Client Tax
- Knowledge of Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, Trusts, and Estate Planning
- Experience managing both tax compliance and advisory work
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills
- CTA qualification is preferred, although ATT, ACA, or ACCA qualified candidates with relevant experience will also be considered
- A proactive and commercially minded approach
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
