Having recently expanded upon services within the West Midlands, they are currently looking for housing professionals to help contribute to the high-quality service they provide to those in need.
Vacancy Brief:
- Our client is seeking a Youth Housing & Tenancy Officer on a 12-month fixed term contract.
- This vacancy is full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
- This vacancy is based in Coventry.
- Candidates will be paid £13.30 PAYE or £17.23 per hour Umbrella.
- Salary for this role is £26,229 - £27,982 per annum, pro rata.
- The role is subject to an enhanced DBS covering Child and Adult workforce.
- A full UK Driver’s License and access to a vehicle is preferable.
- Managing a small caseload of 12 – 15 clients.
The Duties & Responsibilities:
- As a Youth Housing & Tenancy Officer, you will enable young people to sustain their tenancy and equip them in relation to taking responsibility for their property.
- Part of your role will be to assist young people in debt management or where necessary signpost them to specialist agencies to address these issues.
- An important aspect of your role will be to assist young people with benefit claims, including assisting with completion and submission of claim forms and making telephone calls.
- You will enable young people to pay their rent and service charge.
- You will be required to empower young people and show how to report repairs, keeping property in an acceptable clean manner.
- You will also contribute to the introduction of Progression Coaches, Housing Management Workers, House Keepers, Volunteers, Students and Trainees, including day to day supervision and performance management.
Role Experience:
- Client Groups: Previous experience of working with young people in the following settings/types of work – Youth Work, Probation, Community Work, and Housing.
- Supporting Young People at risk of Homelessness.
- Extra Requirement: 2 years’ experience of Tenancy Support.
