Client snapshot: I am currently recruiting for an organisation specialising in support for those who have homelessness and mental health support needs – their work is certainly well recognised as they continue to expand all over the UK. Having recently expanded upon services within Birmingham, they are currently looking for Support Workers to help contribute to the high-quality service they provide to those in need. Vacancy Brief:

  • Our client is seeking a Housing Support Worker on a temp basis covering long term sickness.
  • This vacancy is full time, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Working Pattern: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.
  • This vacancy is based in Solihull.
  • Excellent pay rate: candidates will be paid £13.05 PAYE or £16.65 per hour Umbrella.
  • Candidate must have experience of homelessness prevention of young people in independent living.
  • The role is subject to an enhanced DBS covering Child and Adult workforce.
  • The role is location based.

The Duties & Responsibilities:

  • In this job role, you will ensure young people are supported to engage in the service and feel able and willing to take part in effective assessment and support planning around their health, wellbeing, and housing.
  • Part of your job role will be to plan, implement, review, and evaluate interventions to ensure that the young person can understand their support/recovery plans and take part in self-care.
  • You will be required to engage and measure a young person's progress using a range of assessment and support tools, planning support around the young person's needs with clear objectives that are reviewed regularly.
  • An important aspect of your role will be to undertake comprehensive and detailed assessments of housing and support needs and risks, to ensure the prevention of homelessness, where safe to do so.
  • Furthermore, as a Housing Support Worker, you will ensure young people who may face discrimination and stigma because of experiencing issues such as mental health or substance misuse or offending, receive fair access to services.
