Responsive Repairs Surveyor Location: Bristol (Hybrid Working) Pay Rate: £20.66 per hour PAYE | £26.27 per hour Umbrella Contract: Temporary until the end of February 2027 (with the view to extension) Hours: Full Time – Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm Working Pattern: Hybrid – Office based Tuesday & Thursday, Remote Working Monday, Wednesday & Friday The Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced Responsive Repairs Surveyor to join a busy Housing Repairs team, delivering an essential surveying service across residential properties throughout Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Surveyor with a strong understanding of responsive repairs, damp and mould, and property maintenance to play a key role in improving housing standards for residents. You will be responsible for inspecting properties, diagnosing repair issues, raising works orders and monitoring repairs through to completion while ensuring excellent customer service is maintained throughout. Key Responsibilities * Carry out inspections of occupied residential properties to assess repair requirements. * Diagnose building defects and specify appropriate remedial works. * Raise accurate works orders for contractors and monitor repairs through to completion. * Assess and investigate damp, mould and condensation issues, recommending suitable remedial actions. * Ensure asbestos risks are identified and managed in accordance with current legislation and procedures. * Monitor contractor performance, quality of workmanship and compliance with agreed timescales. * Liaise with tenants, contractors and internal departments to provide regular updates on repair progress. * Ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently and in line with housing standards. * Maintain accurate surveying records and update internal systems. * Identify health and safety concerns within properties and escalate where necessary. * Support the delivery of high-quality responsive repairs whilst ensuring excellent customer satisfaction. * Contribute towards continuous service improvements and effective repairs delivery. About You * Previous experience working as a Responsive Repairs Surveyor, Building Surveyor or Repairs Surveyor. * Experience surveying occupied residential housing. * Strong knowledge of responsive repairs and property maintenance. * Good understanding of damp, mould and condensation diagnosis and remedial solutions. * Knowledge of asbestos awareness and associated legislation. * Ability to prepare accurate specifications of work and raise contractor work orders. * Experience monitoring contractor performance and repair quality. * Calm, professional and thoughtful approach when dealing with residents. * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload. * Competent using Microsoft Office and housing management or repairs systems.
