Client Snapshot: A rewarding opportunity has opened with an established charity, a leading mental health organisation in Bristol. Established over 40 years ago, they provide housing and mental health support to vulnerable clients experiencing homelessness, trauma, or complex needs. You’ll be part of a compassionate, highly skilled Crisis Team working collaboratively within the wider Mental Health Bristol Partnership.
Vacancy Brief:
- Permanent, full-time role – 37.5 hours per week
- Shift pattern includes early, late, occasional waking nights and weekend work (1 in 3)
- Salary: £26,132 – £26,861 per annum
- Female-only position – due to the nature of the client group
- Candidates must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle
- Based across Central, East, North or South Bristol Crisis Teams
- You’ll be seconded to Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership (AWP) and supported by a trauma-informed, recovery-focused culture.
- Enhanced DBS will be required
- Strong training and development pathway, generous annual leave, and wellbeing support
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering responsive crisis support to individuals in acute mental health distress
- Build trusting, therapeutic relationships with service users
- Co-produce and implement crisis and recovery plans (including WRAP)
- Liaise with families, health and care professionals, and community agencies
- Promote safety, inclusion, and wellbeing using a trauma-informed approach
- Provide specialist advice and support around women’s mental health, trauma, and DVA
- Manage caseloads and maintain clear, timely records
- Work flexibly as part of a supportive and reflective multi-agency team
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with individuals with mental health issues or complex needs (e.g. substance use, homelessness, trauma)
- Experience with risk assessments, crisis intervention, and support planning
- A confident, empathetic communicator who remains calm under pressure
- Commitment to recovery-based practice, equality, and service user empowerment
- A full UK driving license and access to suitable transport
