The organisation works in partnership with NHS providers to support individuals experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, helping them access evidence-based psychological interventions and achieve positive recovery outcomes.

Vacancy Brief:

  • The role is for a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP).
  • This is a permanent, full-time position.
  • The role is based within a secure Criminal Justice setting in York.
  • Salary for the position is £32,073 per annum.
  • Working hours are Monday to Friday with no weekend working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based low-intensity psychological interventions for individuals presenting with mild to moderate mental health conditions.
  • Conduct assessments and develop collaborative treatment plans aligned with recovery goals.
  • Deliver guided self-help programmes and CBT-based interventions in accordance with national PWP standards.
  • Monitor clinical outcomes and maintain accurate records throughout the therapeutic journey.
  • Support individuals to develop coping strategies and self-management techniques.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure effective care planning and treatment pathways.
  • Attend clinical supervision, team meetings and case reviews.
  • Manage referrals appropriately, ensuring individuals receive the most suitable level of intervention.
  • Support continuity of care and onward referrals where required.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP).
  • BABCP or BPS accreditation, or actively working towards accreditation following qualification.
  • Experience delivering low-intensity CBT interventions within a Talking Therapies, IAPT or equivalent service.
  • Strong assessment, communication and therapeutic engagement skills.
  • Experience working within Criminal Justice, offender health or secure environments would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Passion for improving mental health outcomes and supporting recovery.
