The Company
Oscar Technology is currently recruiting for a Field/Installations Engineer to join an exciting software house producing software and hardware solutions. Their main focus is around asset tracking, fleet management and high security systems for local government and nationwide clients across the UK, with plans of expansion into Europe.
Your day-to-day would consist of:
- Travelling across the UK to mainly install, configure, and maintain cabinets.
- Once cabinets are installed, conduct fault-finding and troubleshooting, primarily on firewalls and network connectivity issues.
- Deploy pre-written scripts and perform database backups as part of routine maintenance and support once installation is completed.
- Travelling and working with another field engineer on-site.
- Communicating with clients and customers to explain the set-up and any questions they may have.
- This role could consist of staying overnight as needed when attending installations or maintenance activities in different areas of the country (fully covered by company).
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
- Follow health and safety precautions.
Essential:
- At least 2 years of experience in a field service engineer role.
- Experience with installations into control boards and use of power drills.
- Experience with health and safety guidelines.
- Ability to communicate and liaise with customers whilst on-site.
- Flexibility to travel across the UK as needed for on-site work.
- Full UK Driver's License.
Desirable:
- Experience with fault finding (mainly troubleshooting firewalls).
- Knowledge with Linux and inputting pre-written scripts.
