We're working with an organisation that is building a new platform and is looking for a Lead Developer to take technical ownership from day one. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior full-stack engineer who thrives in a structured, enterprise-grade environment and enjoys staying hands-on while defining architecture, setting engineering standards, and driving secure delivery practices within a "fail fast" product mindset.

The Opportunity

You'll lead engineering on the first product within a wider cloud transformation strategy. The platform consists of a .NET MAUI mobile application (iOS & Android), an Angular 21 web application, and Azure-hosted backend services built using modern Microsoft technologies. Reporting to the Product Owner, you'll play a pivotal role in defining architectural standards, implementing robust DevOps practices, and ensuring security, performance, and maintainability are embedded from the outset. This role blends hands-on development, architectural leadership, and close collaboration with Product, UX (Figma), and QA teams. The expectation is high-quality, production-ready code with strong test coverage and fully automated deployments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Writing secure, production-grade, well-tested code across backend, frontend, and mobile
  • Taking architectural ownership of APIs, mobile offline patterns, and Azure infrastructure
  • Designing and building RESTful services using modern .NET and clean architecture principles
  • Leading Infrastructure as Code implementation using Bicep
  • Driving CI/CD maturity (Bitbucket preferred) with strict SDK and dependency version control
  • Ensuring OWASP-aligned secure coding practices and GDPR compliance
  • Collaborating with QA to support automated and manual test strategies
  • Documenting architectural decisions (ADRs) and maintaining clear technical communication
