I'm currently working with a well-established organisation looking to appoint a Network Engineer to join their infrastructure team on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on role supporting a range of network infrastructure and security initiatives across a multi-site environment. You'll work closely with infrastructure, networking and security teams to maintain, improve and secure the organisation's network estate.
The Role
- Support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations.
- Administer and troubleshoot routing, switching and firewall technologies.
- Assist with network security improvements and firewall policy reviews.
- Support network segmentation and access control initiatives.
- Configure and maintain VPN connectivity and secure remote access solutions.
- Investigate and resolve complex network incidents and performance issues.
- Work closely with infrastructure and security teams on project delivery.
- Produce and maintain network documentation, diagrams and technical procedures.
- Support network monitoring, alerting and operational improvements.
Essential Experience
- Previous experience as a Network Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer or Network & Security Engineer.
- Strong Cisco networking experience.
- Good understanding of routing and switching technologies.
- Experience supporting enterprise firewalls and network security controls.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs and WAN technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within a multi-site or enterprise environment.
Desirable Experience
- Cisco Firepower, FTD or FMC.
- Cisco ISE.
- Palo Alto, Fortinet or Check Point firewalls.
- Network segmentation projects.
- IPS/IDS technologies.
- CCNA or CCNP certification.
- Experience within large enterprise environments.
